The Pain Point
Administrators of the blog Millennial Saints were having challenges conveying guidelines to new authors. The revision cycle was taking too long, having to heavily revise each article to meet quality checks, and editors were overwhelmed. All the authors are non-paid volunteers, so they didn’t want to overwhelm the authors and discourage them from writing for the blog. They reached out for consultation and help.
The Solution
After analysis of their goals and challenges, I proposed a short eLearning course to orient new authors and convey clear expectations I decided to chunk the information into four, bite-sized modules to present the content in a non-intimidating way. I also gave ideas for a few interactive features to help learners stay engaged and support retainment of the concepts. Lastly, I proposed a downloadable job aid that learners could print and display while they work.
With enthusiastic approval for my learning solution from administrators, I worked through the next steps in the ADDIE process until full implementation and evaluation. See some feature highlights below!

Downloadable Job Aid
I designed a checklist job aid that can be downloaded and printed. I included this as a resource for learners to refer back to as needed.
